Khilkhet: A mobile check post was set up yesterday in the Khilkhet area to combat illegal parking, unlicensed drivers, unfit vehicles, over speeding, riding motorcycles without helmets, and illegal licenses.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the operation is being conducted under the supervision of the 6 independent ADA Brigades of the Bangladesh Army, in collaboration with traffic police and Khilkhet Police Station. An Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) press release stated that the joint operation resulted in the filing of 92 cases, the seizure of six vehicles, and the recovery of Taka 2.22 lakh in fines. Additionally, a case is being prepared against an individual for carrying illegal drugs.
The ISPR further mentioned that, given the current circumstances, the army-led joint drive will continue nationwide with the aim of upholding the rule of law and tackling all forms of illegal activities, including traffic rule violations.
