Dhaka: Stocks today performed mixed with major indices finishing flat. The benchmark index of the Dhaka bourse closed the day with 8.54 points down at 5,190.86. The blue-chip DS30 closed the day with 10.62 points down at 1,915.44. But the Shariah DSES closed the day with 2.24 points up at 1147.15.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, out of 398 issues traded, 181 closed lower, 178 advanced, and 39 issues remained unchanged on the DSE floor. ORIONPHARM topped the turnover chart, followed by LOVELLO, BSC, SONALIANSH, and AGNISYSL. AFTABAUTO was the day’s top gainer, posting a 10 per cent gain, while RENWICKJA was the worst loser, losing 7.10 per cent.
In contrast, the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed with an upward trend despite its major CASPI index declining by 20.90 points to settle at 14,462.91. At CSE, 205 issues were traded, with 116 closing higher and 66 closing lower, as 2.88 million shares worth Taka 120.09 million changed hands.
