Foreign ministry’s Maritime Affairs Unit (MAU)

secretary Rear Admiral Md Khurshed Alam has resigned from his post.

Foreign ministry’s Public Diplomacy wing director general Toufique Hasan

confirmed the decision to BSS this evening.

Alam represented Bangladesh in the Dispute concerning the Delimitation of the

Maritime Boundary between Bangladesh and Myanmar at the International

Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (ITLOS) in Germany.

He also represented the country in the Bay of Bengal Maritime Boundary

Arbitration between Bangladesh and India under the Permanent Court of

Arbitration in The Hague.

Alam had been elected as the President of the 26th Session of the

International Seabed Authority (ISA) Council on October 01, 2020.
