Madhesh Province to construct modern washrooms

The Madhesh Province has planned to construct three modern washrooms in Janakpur city.

The modern facilities would not only convenience the tourists but also expand tourism business, said Vice Chair of Province Policy and Planning Commission, Dr Sohan Shah, adding that the province decided to set up the modern washrooms under the beautification programme.

“The visit of domestic and local tourists has upped in Janakpur in recent time. With the modern facility in place, it would further boost tourism,” he said, adding that the present scheme was launched evaluating the past efforts of beautification and present need.

The washrooms would be set up at the cost of Rs 30 million. The locations for these were identified based on need and priority, Shah shared.

A team comprising Vice Chair Shah, Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan City’s Mayor Manoj Kumar Sah, and Officiating Secretary at Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism in Province, Sushil Sah, among others identified the lands for the undertaking- Janakpur
dham bus park, southern part of Ram Mandir, and the place between Covered Hall and Manipal.

Similarly, the Shah’s team fixed the land for constructing a cultural tourism park- at Tirahutiya Gachhi of Janakpurdham.

The Province government has allocated Rs 4 million for the construction of park with multiple facilities including a gymnasium.
