A college teacher was killed and another
injured in a road accident on the Jamalpur-Tangail highway in Beltiya area in
sadar upazila of the district this afternoon.
The victim was Firoz Miah,32, son of Abdur Rashid at village Godashimla in
Jamalpur sadar upazila and a lecturer of Abdul Majid Talukdar Degree College.
Police said Feroz Miah was returning home from college with his colleague
Abdul Mannan by a motorcycle. While their motorcycle reached Beltiya area a
truck heading to Jamalpur hit the motorcycle from behind. Firoz Miah died on
the spot. Injured Abdul Mannan rushed to hospital.
A case was registered with Jamalpur Sadar Police Station in this regard.
