Bangladesh allrounder Shakib Al Hasan made an

excellent debut for Surrey Cricket Club by taking four wickets against

Somerset in an English County Cricket Championship match at Taunton.

Shakib bowled 33.5 overs to take four wickets for 97 runs as Somerset were

dismissed for 317 after playing 95.5 overs. It meant Shakib bowled one third

of Somerset’s innings, which was the testament of his superb fitness.

Tom Banton scored 132 as Somerset were in position of dominance before Shakib

intervened. Shakib though couldn’t take the wicket of Banton but his

controlled bowling gave the other bowlers of Surrey to dominate the Somerset.

Shakib will play this only match in his only stint in English County

Championship in this season. After this match, he will join the Bangladesh

national team in India where they will play two Tests and three T20

Internationals.
