HC upholds death of serial killer Roshu Kha

The High Court (HC) has upheld death sentence of

serial killer Roshu Kha in a case lodged over murder of Pervin Akter in

Chandpur.

A High Court division bench of Justice Syed Md Ziaul Karim and Justice KM

Imrul Kayesh passed the order after holding hearing on death references and

appeal in the case.

The court, however, commuted death sentences of Roshu’s nephew Zahirul Islam

and his cohort Eunus to life imprisonment.

According to the case documents, Roshu and his cronies raped and subsequently

murdered Pervin Akter in Moddho Hasha village under Faridganj upazila in

Chandpur district on July 20, 2009.

Chandpur Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal on March 6, 2018,

convicted and sentenced three accused including Roshu Kha

to death in this connection.
