A UK-based charity, Khotang Service Society, began health camps in different parts of district on Friday. Teams of doctors and health workers have been mobilized at 11 places in the district to provide health service for free of cost.
It is a two-day health camp at each place. It will run till April 5. Society Chairman Dr Pramod Rai informed that the camps were launched simultaneously at four places across the district.
The drive is launched under the slogan, ‘Respect to birthplace: Campaign of health labour donation’.
On Friday, it the camps were held at Sakela rural municipality, Khotehang rural municipality, Jantedhunga rural municipality and Rawabesi rural municipality.
Even the special health services would be provided by gynecologist, pediatricians, general physicians, dentist, orthopedic and gastroenterologist. With test and treatments, the patients would be provided medicines free of cost.
There are a total of 45 specialist doctors and over 130 health workers engaged with the health camps. Chairm
an Rai shared that some Rs 31 million would be spent for the management of the camps.
