The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) today approved in principle the Draft Bangladesh Offshore Model Production Sharing Contract (PSC) 2023 in a bid to meet the growing demand for energy in the country.
The approval came from the 16th meeting of the CCEA in this year held today virtually with Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal in the chair.
Briefing reporters after the meeting virtually, Cabinet Division additional secretary Sayeed Mahbub Khan said that the policy, initiated by the Energy and Mineral Resources Division, has been framed to explore oil and gas in the deep and shallow areas of the bay to ensure economic prosperity.
