Barishal: Health officials today said they recorded 834 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts in the past 24 hours. ‘Out of the 834 fresh cases, 167 patients were hospitalized in Barishal division, 103 in Chattogram division, 229 in Dhaka division excluding the capital, 60 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and 203 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas and 72 in Mymensingh division, a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) statement said.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, since the start of the dengue onslaughts, Bangladesh has witnessed 307 deaths so far this year, with the disease affecting 77,348 people. In comparison, last year, dengue claimed 575 lives and affected 101,214 individuals in the country.
