Dhaka: The government has promoted 80 police inspectors to the post of assistant superintendents of police (ASPs). The promotions were given in three separate notifications signed by Deputy Secretary of the Home Affairs Ministry Md Mahbubur Rahman, according to a handout issued today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, 33 police inspectors (unarmed), 18 police inspectors (city and vehicles), and 29 police inspectors (armed) have been promoted to the rank of ASPs. The notifications also stated that the promoted police officers’ jobs have been assigned to the Police Headquarters.
The promoted officers have been instructed to submit their joining letters to the Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs through appropriate authorities, as mentioned in the notifications. The order, issued in the public interest, will come into effect immediately.
