8 Arrested Over Journalist Tuhin Murder Case

Gazipur: Law enforcement agencies, in separate operations, arrested eight individuals in connection with the murder of journalist Asaduzzaman Tuhin. The arrests took place from various locations between Friday night and Saturday afternoon.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the arrested individuals include Faisal alias Ketu Mizan, identified as the mastermind behind the murder, his wife Golap, Sumon, Al Amin, Swadhin, Md. Shahjalal, and Md. Faisal Hasan. Additionally, the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) apprehended another suspect, Sahidul Islam, from Itna upazila under Kishoreganj district, as confirmed by Ashraful Kabir, Camp Commander of Rab-14.



The deceased’s elder brother filed a case with Bason Police Station on Friday, accusing 20 to 25 unidentified individuals. Following this, the accused were detained after a series of raids from Friday night to Saturday morning, as stated by Gazipur Metropolitan Police Commissioner Dr. Nazmul Karim during a press briefing.



The Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested Faisal, his wife Golap, and Sumon from Bhabanipur in Sadar Upazila of Gazipur. Bason Police Station apprehended Alamin from the Turag area of Uttara in Dhaka, while RAB detained Swadhin from the Hotapara area of Sadar Upazila of Gazipur.



Furthermore, Shah Jalal was arrested from Char Masland Moralpara under Gafargaon police station in Mymensingh district, and Md. Faisal Hasan was detained in Gazipur. The police commissioner revealed that the main suspects were identified from video footage.



There are multiple cases pending against all those arrested, with a total of 15 cases against the main accused, Ketu Mizan, spread across different police stations.
