Dhaka: Bangladesh Institute of Bank Management (BIBM) is set to hold its 6th Graduation Ceremony for certified expert bankers who have successfully completed all the requirements of their respective certification courses. Dr. Ahsan H. Mansur, Chairman of the BIBM Governing Board and Governor of Bangladesh Bank, will attend the event as the chief guest.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Professor Dr. M. A. Baqui Khalily, Dean of the School of Business at the University of Asia Pacific in Dhaka, will deliver the ceremonial lecture. S. M. Abdul Hakim, Director General of BIBM, will chair the program, and Dr. Mohammad Tazul Islam, Director (Certification) of BIBM, will deliver the welcome address.
The ceremony will acknowledge the achievements of graduates from nine programs, with a total of 1,013 graduates set to receive their certificates. The certification courses offered by BIBM are instrumental in building a skilled workforce to provide specialized services in Bangladesh’s banking sector.
Dr. Mohammad Tazul Islam emphasized that the primary objective of BIBM’s certification courses is to enhance bankers’ professional expertise and familiarize them with contemporary banking systems and global thinking. In 2015, BIBM, in collaboration with the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management in Germany, launched the Certified Expert in Risk Management (CERM) course.
Following this, BIBM introduced eight additional certification courses, including ‘Certified Expert in Credit Management (CECM)’, ‘Certified Expert in Trade Services (CETS)’, ‘Certified Expert in Anti Money Laundering and Financial Crime (CEAF)’, and ‘Certified Expert in E-Banking (CEEB)’. Other courses include Certified Islamic Banking and Finance Professionals (CIBFP), Certificate in Commercial Credit (CICC), Certificate in SME Credit (CiSMEC), Certified Professionals in SME Financing (CPSMEF), Certified Professional in Internal Audit and Bank Inspection (CPAI), and Certified Expert in NPL Management and Investment (CENPL).
