Chittagong: Over 60 percent of the total votes have been cast in the Chittagong University Central Students’ Union (CUCSU) elections, according to Chief Election Commissioner Prof. Dr. Monir Uddin. The results will formally be announced at the Business Administration Faculty Auditorium after vote counting, Prof. Monir told BSS this evening.

The voting concluded amidst a day filled with complaints and counter-complaints. However, the Election Commission maintained that the election was fair and transparent.

Earlier at noon, Professor Saidur Rahman, a member of the election management committee and head of the ICT cell, stated that it may take until tomorrow morning (Thursday) to finish counting the votes and announce the results.
