Lalmonirhat: The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 in separate raids seized 15.6 kg of ganja, 43 bottles of ESKuf and arrested six alleged drug peddlers from different places in Lalmonirhat district today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, acting on a tip-off, an operational team of RAB-13 conducted a raid in Madhya Dhubanipara village of Hatibandha police station in Lalmonirhat and seized 10.3 kg of ganja and arrested two people, a press release said this evening.
The arrestees are identified as Amir Hossain, 42, of Madhya Singhimari village and Most Nasima, 32, of Madhya Dhubanipara village of Hatibandha police station. In another raid, the same operational team seized 5.3 kg of ganja from Baraipara village and arrested Chhakina Begum, 55, Jahangir Hossain, 24, and Azizul Islam, 28, of the village in the same upazila.
Earlier, the same team seized 43 bottles of ESCUF from Dolapara village and arrested Saju Mia. The arrested individuals were handed over to Hatibandha police station in Lalmonirhat today for further action, the release added.
