Bogura:A total of 548 meritorious female students received pink bicycles in Bogura, marking the birthday of Barrister Zaima Rahman. The distribution took place at Shibganj Government Pilot Girls' High School, with State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives Mir Shahe Alam leading the ceremony.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the initiative aimed to promote girls' education and facilitate their daily commute to school. Alongside the bicycles, approximately 1,500 students received special mugs featuring Zaima Rahman's photograph, as shared by the state minister's press secretary on social media.

Mir Shahe Alam emphasized that the event also included a free medical camp providing eye care services to around 4,000 underprivileged individuals. The minister highlighted that Zaima Rahman's birthday was celebrated through humanitarian assistance rather than traditional festivities. Similar activities have been organized previously under Sheikh Hasina's rule, focusing on community welfare.

In addition, eye care services and cataract surgeries were provided at the Aliaharat Rokeya-Sattar High School ground. The state minister reiterated the goal of supporting students and advancing girls' education, stressing the need to create a safe learning environment and prevent child marriage and harassment.

Criticism was directed at the Jamaat party by Shahe Alam, accusing them of deceptive election practices. He noted that initiatives like the Family Card and Farmer Card, tree planting, and healthcare services were part of Tarique Rahman's efforts for community welfare.

The event was attended by various dignitaries, including Shibganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer Ziaur Rahman and members of the state minister's family. A prayer was offered for the well-being of Barrister Zaima Rahman and her family.
