5 Held with Drugs in Rangpur, Dinajpur

Rangpur: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 in three separate drives arrested five alleged drug traders with 3,360 ampoules of contraband Buprenorphine injections and 346 bottles of phensedyl from Rangpur and Dinajpur districts.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the arrests included one individual from Dinajpur and four others from Rangpur districts, as stated in separate press releases issued by Senior Assistant Director (Media) of RAB-13 Flight Lieutenant Md Saifullah Nayeem. On a tip-off, a team of the Crime Prevention Company (CPC)-1 of RAB-13 from Dinajpur Camp apprehended a man with 3,360 ampoules of Buprenorphine injections from Adibashi Fakirpara village in Nababganj upazila of Dinajpur at 2 am today. The detainee, Sukula Baski alias Sujan Maker, 33, from village Karnai in Sadar upazila of Dinajpur district, has been handed over to the concerned police station for further action.



In another operation, an RAB-13 team from its Rangpur battalion headquarters arrested three persons with 299 bottles of phensedyl from the Mohipur Bridge area under Gangachara upazila in Rangpur district on Friday. The arrested individuals were identified as Md Nayan Islam, 19, and Md Belal Hossain, 22, both from village Mouza Shakhati, and Md Raju Mian, 25, from village Uttar Botrish Hazari in Kaliganj upazila of Lalmonirhat district.



Additionally, in a separate drive, an RAB-13 team from its Rangpur battalion headquarters apprehended one person and seized 47 bottles of phensedyl from village Purbo Ecchhlee in Gangachara upazila of Rangpur district on Thursday. The detainee was Md Imran Hasan Shakil, 22, of village Chandanpat in Aditmari upazila of Lalmonirhat district. The arrested individuals have been handed over to the relevant police stations, the releases added.
