Dhaka: A five-day 'Multipurpose Jute Product Fair-2025' kicked off here today marking the National Jute Day. The event, organized by the Department of Jute at the Jute Diversification Promotion Centre (JDPC) located at Monipuri Para in the city, will continue until March 10, as per a press release from the Jute Ministry.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Adviser to the Ministry of Textiles and Jute, Sk Bashir Uddin, attended the inaugural function as the chief guest. Following the inauguration, he toured various stalls at the fair to observe the wide array of jute products on display.
The event serves as a precursor to a 15-day handloom-textile fair, which is set to begin on the JDPC premises from March 11 to March 25, as indicated by ministry sources. The fair aims to promote the versatility of jute products and their potential in diverse applications.
