44 Students and 9 Teachers Honored with Dean’s Awards at Rajshahi University

Rajshahi: Forty-four students from the Faculty of Engineering at Rajshahi University (RU) have been recognized with the prestigious ‘Dean’s Award’ for their significant achievements in their respective academic fields. The awards also honored nine teachers from five departments and two researchers for their contributions to research.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the award-giving ceremony was held at the Science Building Gallery, attended by various stakeholders, including teachers and students. The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Saleh Hasan Naqib, was the chief guest and presented the awards to the distinguished recipients. Pro-VCs Professor Mohammad Main Uddin and Professor Farid Uddin Khan were special guests, and the event was chaired by Professor Bimal Kumar Pramanik from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering.



During his address, VC Prof. Saleh Hasan Naqib emphasized the importance of recognition in nurturing talent. He noted that the Dean’s Awards not only acknowledge merit but also inspire teachers and students to excel. He expressed hope that this initiative would motivate other faculties to introduce similar awards to promote academic excellence.



The ceremony also highlighted the achievements of eight teachers and two researchers who were honored for their excellence in research. A Special Dean’s Award was given to a teacher from the Department of Applied Chemistry and Chemical Engineering for authoring a high-quality book.



In terms of student recognition, 23 students from the Department of Applied Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, two from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, three from the Department of Information and Communication Engineering, four from the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, and eleven from the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering received Dean’s Awards for outstanding results in the MSc Engineering examinations. Additionally, one student was recognized for exceptional performance in the M Engineering examination.
