430 BGB Platoons Ensuring Security at 2,857 Puja Mandaps Across Bangladesh

Dhaka: Some 430 platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) are actively ensuring security at 2,857 puja mandaps across the country, including the capital city, to facilitate peaceful celebrations of Durga Puja.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, BGB has established 24 base camps to oversee and control the law and order situation nationwide, including the border areas. They are focusing on maintaining order and a peaceful environment during the festival.

Out of the 2,857 puja mandaps under BGB jurisdiction, 1,411 are located in border areas and 1,446 outside these areas. Specifically, 441 mandaps are situated in the capital city, Narayanganj, and Gazipur City Corporations, 694 in Chittagong Metropolitan City, Raozan, and Rangunia, and 311 in other locations.

Additionally, BGB has increased its intelligence surveillance and special patrols in border areas to prevent any incidents and ensure peaceful celebrations. The BGB is coordinating with other law enforcement agencies to facilitate joyful Durga Puja celebrations.
