Dhaka: The Home Ministry is preparing to recruit 4,000 unarmed assistant sub-inspectors (ASIs) to enhance the capacity of Bangladesh Police. A letter signed by Abu Sayed, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry's Police Branch-3, was sent to the Chief Accounts and Finance Officer of the Home Ministry on October 9.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, an earlier letter dated September 21, signed by Kazi Lutful Hasan, Deputy Secretary of the Expenditure Management Division of the Finance Department, was sent to the Public Security Department of the Home Ministry. The letter highlighted the Finance Department's approval for the creation of 4,000 (Grade-14) posts for Bangladesh Police in the Revenue Department.
This initiative is aimed at strengthening the police force to ensure better public security and effective law enforcement in Bangladesh. The recruitment process for these ASI positions is expected to commence soon, following the necessary administrative procedures.
