Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) have arrested three people including ringleader of a fake notes making gang with fake notes worth Tk 1.20 crore from the Dhaka, Sirajganj and Khulna districts.
The arrestees were ring leader Md Maun Hossain Sabbir, 21, Md Parvez, 20, Md Tarek, 20, and Md Shihab Uddin, 20.
Commander Khandaker Al Moin, director legal and media wing of the Rab headquarters, briefed reporters at its Karwanbazar media center on Sunday about the arrest.
Tipped off, a team of Rab-4 conducted a drive in the city’s Chawkbazar area and Sirajganj and Khulna districts on Saturday night, he said.

During the drive, fake notes worth Tk 1.20 crore, fake notes making equipment and a laptop were seized from their possession.
They used to make huge amount of fake currencies targeting various fairs, festivals, cattle markets and large gatherings by adopting various techniques.
Legal steps will be taken against them, said the Rab Commander.
