4-Day Janmastami Celebration to Commence in Chattogram Tomorrow

Chattogram: A four-day Janmastami programme, marking the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna, will begin tomorrow in the port city and other parts of the country. The Sree Sree Janmastami Udjapan Parishad Bangladesh (SSJUPB) shared this information during a press conference held at the Chattogram Press Club Auditorium.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Liberation War Affairs Adviser and freedom fighter Bir Muktijoddha Faruk-e-Azam will inaugurate the event as the chief guest. City Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain will be present as the special guest at the inaugural function, scheduled for 10 am tomorrow. Spiritual leader Shrimat Rabiswarananda Puri Maharaj, head of Pachuria Tapoban Ashram, will also attend as the guest of honor.



The central committee is organizing the Janmastami Mahashobhayatra, a significant event set to occur on August 16. The procession will commence at 10 am from the Andarkilla intersection and will traverse various locations, including Teribazar, Lal Dighi, Kotwali, New Market, Tin Pol, Bose Brothers, DC Hill, Cheragi Pahar, and JM Sen Hall.



Sorob Priya Paul, General Secretary of the central committee of SSJUP, delivered the written statement at the press conference. Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, a member of the BNP’s standing committee, will be the chief guest at the religious conference at 5 pm. Former Member of Parliament Barrister Rumin Farhana will be a special guest at the mothers’ conference at 3 pm tomorrow.



The organizers also announced a grand Namojago to be held on August 17 and 18, lasting sixteen hours. They have urged members of the Hindu community and others involved to contribute to the success of the celebration.
