Dhaka: The Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) launched the three-day 3rd International Conference on Mechanical Engineering and Applied Science (ICMEAS) today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the last ICMEAS was held at MIST in 2022. This year's conference continues the tradition of bringing together a significant number of leading scholars, scientists, academicians, researchers, and industrial experts from around the globe, including countries like the US, United Kingdom, Brunei, Egypt, Canada, Ireland, Japan, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Australia, India, Singapore, China, and Bangladesh. The event serves as a platform for exchanging experiences and research findings.
An impressive total of 289 papers have been submitted from Bangladesh and eight from other countries for this year's ICMEAS. From these submissions, 176 papers have been selected for presentation. All accepted papers for oral presentation will be published in Scopus-Indexed Proceedings and a Scopus-Indexed Journal, provided they meet the publishers' criteria.
The conference sees participation from authors and presenters affiliated with 50 universities worldwide. It provides young researchers and scientists with exposure to a wider intellectual community and opportunities for interaction. The event promises significant value for students, academics, and industry researchers.
Additionally, the conference offers an interdisciplinary platform for researchers, practitioners, and educators to present and discuss recent innovations, trends, concerns, and practical challenges in the fields of Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aeronautical, and Naval Engineering, as well as Applied Sciences.
Major General Md Nasim Parvez, Commandant of MIST, inaugurated the conference as the Chief Patron. The closing ceremony will take place on July 19, with General Waker-Uz-Zaman, Chief of Army Staff, Bangladesh Army, attending as the chief guest to award the best papers presented.
