The 37th National Badminton Championship, organized by Bangladesh Badminton Federation (BBF), began on Sunday at the Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Indoor Stadium in the capital.
State Minister for Youth and Sports Zahid Ahsan Russel, MP inaugurated the meet as the chief guest while secretary of the Youth and Sports Ministry Mesbah Uddin was also present as the special guest at the opening ceremony, chaired by BBF president and Information Commissioner Dr Abdul Malek.

A total of 377 shuttlers – 313 men’s and 64 women’s – from 71 teams are taking part in the national championship.
After the opening ceremony of the championship, the State Minister inaugurated the modernization works of the Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Indoor Stadium, costing Taka 3.06 crore (three crore and six lacs).
