Dinajpur:A total of 37 poor and underprivileged families in Sadar upazila received financial assistance today under a special programme initiated by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, local lawmaker Jahangir Alam distributed the cheques to the beneficiaries during a programme at the Sadar Upazila Parishad auditorium at 2.30 pm. This event was organized by the Department of Social Services.
Each beneficiary family was awarded a cheque for Taka 10,000. Jahangir Alam, speaking as the chief guest, emphasized that the financial aid from Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is intended to assist the recipient families in achieving economic self-reliance by investing in poultry rearing and agricultural activities.
The event was also attended by Dinajpur Municipal BNP General Secretary Md Mahiyuddin Mondal Bakul, Dinajpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry Director Md Mostafa Kamal Milan, and District BNP Sports Affairs Secretary Mohammad Ali Kachi, among others.
