37 Arrested Including 15 Awami League Activists in Dinajpur

Dinajpur: Police have arrested a total of 37 people, including 15 leaders and activists of the Awami League (AL) and a life-term convict, from the district over the last 24 hours. Inspector Md Mahmudul Alam of the District Special Branch informed that the arrests were made during raids conducted in different areas of 13 thanas of the district from Monday noon to this noon.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, among those arrested, 15 were involved in political cases, 11 in drug-related cases, and one individual was a life-term convict. Additionally, nine more persons, including those with existing warrants, were detained during the operation.



All of the arrested individuals have been presented before the court of Senior Judicial Magistrate, Dinajpur Sadar. The court has subsequently ordered that they be sent to jail. Sources revealed that these arrests are part of special drives initiated by the police across the country starting April 1, with operations set to continue until April 30.
