Dhaka: Jatrabari and Mohammadpur police of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 37 people involved in various criminal activities during a special operation conducted across the three police station areas of the city on Tuesday.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the arrests were made during raids carried out on August 18 in different areas. The DMP’s media and public relations division issued a press release detailing the operation.
The press release stated that the individuals were apprehended in connection with regular criminal cases, outstanding arrest warrants, and other criminal activities. The DMP highlighted that Jatrabari Police Station conducted a special drive in several crime-prone areas, resulting in the arrest of 20 people for their alleged involvement in criminal activities.
Similarly, Mohammadpur Police carried out a special drive in various crime-prone areas, leading to the arrest of 17 people. Police reported that legal actions were taken, and the individuals were subsequently produced before the court.
