Rajshahi: A total of 32.83 percent of registered voters cast their ballots in six parliamentary constituencies of Rajshahi as of 12:00 noon today. Rajshahi Senior District Election Officer Md. Motawakkil Rahman confirmed that this turnout was recorded within the first four and a half hours of voting.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, sources at the district election office reported that Rajshahi-1 (Tanore-Godagari) has a total of 468,780 voters, with 31 percent turnout recorded so far. In Rajshahi-2 (Sadar), which has 369,564 voters, the turnout reached 35 percent. Rajshahi-3 (Paba-Mohanpur) with 423,778 voters saw 29 percent of votes cast. In Rajshahi-4 (Bagmara), which has 319,909 voters, turnout reached 37 percent. Rajshahi-5 (Puthia-Durgapur) with 453,173 voters recorded a 32 percent turnout. Finally, Rajshahi-6 (Charghat-Bagha) with 356,954 voters saw 33 percent of votes cast. Earlier, at 10:00 am, the overall turnout was 17.5 percent.
Regarding the voting situation, Rajshahi Senior District Election Officer Md. Motawakkil Rahman stated that voting is being conducted peacefully, without any incidents of disorder. Voters are casting their ballots in a festive atmosphere at the polling centers. He expressed hope that voting would continue peacefully until the end.
