A 31-year-old man was killed while two others were injured in an alleged clash with members of a rival gang over establishing dominance in the district’s Bakerganj upazila Tuesday night.

The deceased was identified as Rony Mollah, son of Yeasin Mollah of Sanapara village under the Faridpur union.

The injured, Tarikul Islam Taufique, 35, and Shahidul Islam Shahan, 32, are undergoing treatment at Sher-e-Bangla Medical College and Hospital.

Police said that 15-20 people, led by UP member Mamun and his brothers Sumon and Kawser, attacked the victim’s house late on Tuesday night, which triggered a clash leaving Rony, Tarikul and Shahidul wounded.

Mostafizur Rahman, in-charge of Faridpur union police outpost, said on information, a police team rushed to the spot and send the injured to Sher-e-Bangla hospital, where Rony succumbed to his injuries.
