3 Held for Attacking Students’ Movement in Rajshahi

Rajshahi: Police arrested three listed accused on the charges of attacking and blasting cocktails on the anti-discrimination student movement here on August 5, 2024. The arrestees are Tanvir Hassan Sajib, 32, son of late Abul Khayer, and Naimul Islam, 30, son of late Abu Taher, both residents of the Rajarhata area, and Arkan Uddin Bappy, 49, son of late Ansar Uddin Anfor, a resident of the Kumarpara area in the city.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Sabina Yeasmin, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Media) at Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP), stated that the arrested individuals were involved in Awami League and banned Chhatra League politics. She reported that they were involved in attacking and blasting cocktails at the students' movement in the Alupatty area.

On a tip-off, a detective branch team of RMP conducted drives and arrested them from their respective houses last night.
