3 Family Members Sustain Burn Injuries in Chandpur Gas Leak Blast

Chandpur: Three members of a family sustained burn injuries in an explosion, believed to be caused by a gas line leak, at a house in Kachua upazila of Chandpur district on Wednesday morning.



According to United News of Bangladesh, the injured individuals have been identified as Khadiza, 30, Mahmudul, 35, and Sheuli Akter, 40, all residents of the upazila. The explosion occurred around 8:30 am, resulting in significant injuries to the family members.



Following the incident, the injured were immediately transported to the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery in Dhaka for medical treatment. Dr. Shaon Bin Rahman, the resident medical officer at the institute, reported that Khadiza suffered burn injuries covering 35 percent of her body, while Mahmudul and Sheuli received burns covering 4 percent and 2 percent, respectively. Khadiza’s condition is critical, as stated by Dr. Rahman.



The local authorities are investigating the cause of the explosion to prevent any such incidents in the future.
