Rangpur: A three-day divisional level Science Fair, along with the 10th Science Olympiad and 10th Quiz Competition, commenced today in Rangpur to mark the 47th Science and Technology Week-2026. The event, organized by the Rangpur divisional administration, is being supervised by the National Science and Technology Museum with support from the Ministry of Science and Technology.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, students from various secondary level educational institutions are actively participating in the fair, showcasing their scientific innovations and research through 43 distinct stalls. The event aims to provide a platform for students to demonstrate their creativity and practical knowledge in science.
In his inauguration speech, Rangpur Divisional Commissioner Shahidul Islam emphasized the importance of the practical application of science education. He highlighted that new inventions are crucial for the progress of humanity and encouraged students to focus on scientific practice and innovative activities to better equip themselves for future service to the nation.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Additional Divisional Commissioner Abdul Motaleb, along with senior government officials, teachers, students, guardians, and journalists, all of whom gathered to support and celebrate the budding scientific talents of the region.
