Bogura: A three-day International Industrial Automation Expo, showcasing modern technologies and automation solutions for industrial and production sectors, began here today. The '7th IMAAE and Industrial Automation Expo-2026' was inaugurated at around 10:30am at the Karatoa Convention Centre in Jamiltola area of the city by Bogura Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) President MSM Atikur Rahman Badal.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the exhibition is organized by Tallol Agro's 'Chicks Foods' in collaboration with IBEPL and will remain open to visitors from 10am to 7pm daily from August 20 to 22. In his inaugural speech, Badal emphasized the need for developing Bogura as an 'Industrial Hub' of the northern region. He emphasized promoting technical and IT education over manual labor for sustainable industries essential for Bangladesh's global competitiveness.
Badal highlighted that the chamber plans to offer its hall rooms free of charge for seminars to raise awareness among local entrepreneurs and organize specialized training programs. He mentioned that priority was being given to cargo facilities and composite and agro-based industries to help local products reach international markets. Efforts are underway to bring local products under BSTI, autoclave machine, and ISO certification to enhance quality control and international acceptability. A proposal regarding this has been submitted to the BSTI director general.
Badal expressed hope that improved technical skills would create decent employment opportunities for local youths in Bogura, with monthly incomes of Tk 50,000 or more. The event was attended by Kazi Ekhlasul Haque, Managing Director of Chicks and Foods Ltd, Abul Faiz Azad, Managing Director of Confidence Exim International Ltd, and Betty Lee, General Manager of Operations at Anhui Jieshun Automobile Technology Co Ltd.
Md Sakhawat Hossain, representing the organizers of the Industrial Machinery and Manufacturing Equipment (IMME) Expo and Industrial Automation Expo, stated that the event aims to establish direct links between industrial machinery and equipment manufacturers and suppliers and industries in the northern region. He described it as a platform for acquiring appropriate technology, machinery, and skills.
More than 80 local and foreign companies are showcasing their products and technologies at the expo. Industrial machinery for rice, flour, pulses, edible oil, jute mills, poultry, feed, auto-bricks, textiles, furniture, pharmaceuticals, plastics, and LPG industries are on display. In addition, demonstrations of boilers, generators, compressors, electrical automation, medical equipment, WTP, solar technology, and fire safety equipment are being held.
