Jhenaidah: A three-day Agricultural Technology Fair-2025 commenced in Jhenaidah with the goal of increasing farmers' awareness of new agricultural technology and innovations.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) organized the fair under the project 'Sustainable Agricultural Extension in Jashore region.' The event aimed to showcase the practical aspects of modern, environmentally friendly agricultural technology. The fair was inaugurated by Jhenaidah's Deputy Commissioner, Mohammad Abdul Awal, at the Jhenaidah Sadar Upazila Parishad premises, serving as the chief guest.
Prominent attendees at the inaugural function included Deputy Director of the District Agricultural Extension, Shoshthe Chandra Roy, Sadar Upazila UNO Raziya Akhtar Chowdhury, and Upazila Agriculture Officer Nur A Nabi, who participated as special guests. Mushroom farmer Tushar Hossain, a participant in the fair, noted that beyond gaining insights into new technologies, he learned about the support available from various public and private organizations.
The fair featured numerous stalls displaying a range of innovations. Exhibits included modern vegetable and fruit crops, drone technology applications in agriculture, potato preservation techniques, and systems for mushroom cultivation and seed production. Other highlights were modern irrigation systems, roof gardens, technological advancements in flower cultivation, drought and flood tolerant crop production, organic fertilizer production, and smart agricultural machinery demonstrations.
The event attracted participation from marginal farmers, researchers, agricultural officers, and people from different sectors. Officials from various government departments were also present, underscoring the fair's significance in promoting sustainable agricultural practices.
