3.36 Lakh Children in Jamalpur to Receive Vitamin A Plus Capsules

Jamalpur: Around 3.36 lakh children in Jamalpur, aged between six and 59 months, are set to receive Vitamin A Plus capsules as part of the National Vitamin A Plus Campaign scheduled for March 15. The district is fully prepared for this significant health initiative, according to civil surgeon Dr. Md Azizul Haque.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dr. Haque emphasized the importance of Vitamin A as a critical micronutrient essential for child survival, growth, and vision. To ensure the success of the campaign, extensive awareness efforts have been undertaken. The initiative aims to administer blue-colored Vitamin A capsules to 37,487 children, including 142 disabled children aged between 6 to 11 months.



Moreover, a total of 2,98,587 children, including 528 disabled children aged from 12 to 59 months, will be given red-colored Vitamin A capsules. To facilitate the distribution of these capsules, the district has established 1,704 centers, comprising 1,692 temporary centers and 12 permanent centers, to accommodate the large number of recipients.
