A total of 29 individuals involved in various criminal activities have been arrested in a special drive conducted by Dhaka Metropolitan Police.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the arrests were made following a raid in several crime-prone areas under the jurisdiction of Jatrabari Police Station. The operation, which took place yesterday, also resulted in the seizure of 1,300 grams of marijuana and 36 puria of heroin from the suspects.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Md Omar Sunny (35), Md Omar Faruk (25), Md Shahjahan (35), Md Rezwan Khan Manik (20), Moushumi Akhter Shikha alias Shikha Begum (40), Md Akram Hossain (38), Md Kabir Kazi (47), Md Tuhin (28), Md Swapan Mia (24), Md Faisal (19), Md Ripon Mia (22), Md Mahmudullah (18), Md Main Uddin (31), Md Sumon (29), Md Siam (18), Md Arif (22), Monir Hossain (38), Md Chuppu (55), Md Fahad (50), Md Nasir (34), Montu Sarkar (40), Md Selim (42), Abdul Rob (55), Md Raihan Ahmed
(21), Md Miraj (23), Md Jewel (31), Hari Narayan alias Babu (48), Md Shamim Pradhan (30), and Md Jewel (33).
The DMP media release detailed that among those apprehended, three individuals were involved in general cases, another three were linked to old cases, five had active arrest warrants against them, and 18 were detained under the jurisdiction of the mobile court. All detainees have been presented before the court for further legal proceedings.
