288 Fresh Dengue Cases Detected Overnight in Bangladesh

Dhaka: Health officials today said they recorded 288 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts in the past 24 hours. “We recorded 288 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts in 24 hours ending at 8 am today,” a spokesman of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the new cases were distributed across various divisions, with 35 hospitalised in Barishal division, 59 in Chattogram division, 63 in Dhaka division excluding the capital, 33 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), and 52 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas. Additionally, 12 cases were reported in Khulna division, 23 in Mymensingh division, eight in Rajshahi division, two in Rangpur division, and one in Sylhet division.



Since the onset of the dengue outbreak this year, Bangladesh has reported 409 deaths and 100,765 cases of the disease. In comparison, last year the dengue outbreak resulted in 575 deaths and affected 101,214 individuals in the country.
