Dhaka: Health officials today said they recorded 27 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts in the past 24 hours.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a spokesman of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) stated, “We recorded 27 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts in 24 hours ending at 8 am today.” The DGHS statement further detailed the distribution of these cases: 10 were hospitalised in Barishal division, three in Chattogram division, eight in Dhaka division, three in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), two in Khulna division, and one in Rajshahi division.
Since the start of this year’s dengue onslaughts, Bangladesh has recorded four fatalities and 1,843 cases. In comparison, last year’s dengue outbreak claimed 413 lives and affected 102,861 people across the country. The following year, in 2024, the disease resulted in 575 deaths and 101,214 cases.
