Bagerhat: The Coast Guard has seized 250 kg of illegal crabs worth Tk 250,000 near the Khan Jahan Ali Toll Plaza here in the district. Coast Guard west zone media officer Muntasir Ibne Mohsin provided this information to BSS this afternoon.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Coast Guard acted on information and searched a suspicious truck heading from Khulna to Bagerhat at 1:00 am today. During the search, two individuals were arrested along with the contraband crabs.
The seized illegal crabs were subsequently released into the Rupsha River in the presence of a Khulna Forest Station officer. The individuals arrested were released on bond.
