Dhaka: Police of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 25 people in separate special drives conducted in Hazaribagh and Sher-e-Bangla Nagar areas of the capital yesterday, according to police.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a DMP media and public relations division press release issued today stated that during the operations, 15 individuals were detained from the Hazaribagh Police Station area. The arrested include Md Jony alias Ruhul Amin, Md Nurul Islam Babu, Md Ibrahim, Md Shahin, Md Sajib, Md Hazrat Ali, Md Shakil, Rafiq, Sheikh Farid, Hasan, Sagar Hossain, Md Bappi, Md Arafat Ahmed Dipu, Md Alam, and Md Kamrul.
Simultaneously, police from the Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station apprehended 10 people in similar special operations conducted in crime-prone areas of the station yesterday. The individuals taken into custody were identified as Md Mobarak Ali alias Dandari, Md Babul Hossain, Md Rana Hossain, Md Raju Ahmed, Md Mozammel Sarker Meju, Md Golap Hossain Sheikh, Md Mintu, Md Saidur, Joy, and Md Masud.
The DMP statement confirmed that legal proceedings against those arrested are currently underway.
