24 Fresh Dengue Cases Detected Overnight in Bangladesh

Dhaka: Health officials today said they recorded 24 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts in the past 24 hours. “We recorded 24 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts in 24 hours ending at 8 am today,” a spokesman of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, out of the 24 fresh cases, five were hospitalised in Barishal division, two in Chattogram division, 11 in Dhaka division, one in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), two in Dhaka South City Corporation, and three in Rajshahi division, as stated by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Since the start of the dengue onslaughts this year, Bangladesh has recorded four deaths and 1,654 cases of infection. In contrast, the dengue last year claimed 413 lives and inflicted 1,02,861 people in the country. The following year, in 2024, dengue claimed 575 lives and inflicted 1,01,214 people.
