Jatrabari: Jatrabari police of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 24 people involved in various criminal activities during a special operation conducted across the three police station areas of the city yesterday.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, DMP's media and public relations division issued a press release announcing that Jatrabari police carried out special drives in different crime-prone areas, leading to the arrests.
The press release identified the arrestees as Md Abir Dewan (22), Md Russell, Md Shahid, Firoza Begum (48), Sanjoy Pal (38), Md Mamun Hossain (28), Md Murad (24), Md Abir (25), Md Imon (26), Md Ponir Hossain (30), Md Rafiqul Islam Mintu (50), Mohammad Ali (20), Md Shawon (22), Riyaz Mahmud Anas Khan (27), Md Joni (35), Shamsul Rahman (21), Tarikul Islam (20), Md A. Rahman, Md Hasan (25), Jalal Ahmed Parvez (28), Md Tanvir Hossain Rabbi (20), Akash Mia (27), Md Asib (20), and Md Nurul Islam (45).
The DMP stated that the individuals arrested include those accused in regular cases, those wanted under arrest warrants, and individuals allegedly involved in various criminal activities. The police have taken necessary legal actions and produced the arrestees before the court.
