Dhaka: A total of 2,297 people have received free legal support through the National Legal Aid Services Organization (NLASO), as reported on the NLASO website. The report highlights that from 2009 to August 2025, legal assistance was extended for insolvent and poor individuals in 2,297 cases through the Supreme Court legal aid office.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, free legal services have been provided in 431,693 cases across 64 district legal aid offices. Additionally, Dhaka and Chattogram Sramik Legal Aid cells delivered services in 4,484 cases. This initiative is part of the government's efforts to ensure equal access to justice for citizens unable to afford legal representation.
The legal aid services are provided under the Legal Aid Act, underscoring the state's commitment to protecting the rights of vulnerable populations. The activities are conducted by the Law and Justice Division of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.
