22 Brick Kilns Shut Down by Mobile Court in Khulna

Khulna: A mobile court has shut down 22 brick kilns on Monday in Khulna's Rupsha upazila for violating the Brick Manufacturing and Kiln Establishment Act. Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate Apratim Kumar Chakraborty, along with Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Rupsha Police Station Mohammad Mahfuzur Rahman, led the drive.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the mobile court closed the 22 brick kilns under the Brick Manufacturing and Kiln Establishment (Control) Act, 2013, as amended in 2019, as the authorities could not show any legal documents during the drive. The action was taken following the directions of the High Court to address illegal brick kilns in the area.

Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate Apratim Kumar Chakraborty stated that the drive aimed to close illegal brick kilns in the public interest. He emphasized that such activities would continue to ensure compliance with the law. Members of Rupsha Police Station, Fire Service, Ansar, and Pallibidyut Samity were present during the operation to enforce the court's decision.
