Dhaka:The 21st National Furniture Fair 2026 is set to commence at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in Dhaka on Tuesday. This five-day event, organized by the Bangladesh Furniture Shilpa Malik Samity (BFSMS), aims to promote the local furniture industry and expand Bangladesh's furniture export markets.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the fair operates under the slogan 'My Country, My Dream - Decorating Homes with Local Furniture.' The event will feature Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Mohammad Hasan Arif as the chief guest at the opening ceremony. Other notable attendees include Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) Administrator Md Fazlul Hoque and Bangladesh Furniture Exporters Association President Dr KM Akhtaruzzaman. Sheikh Abdul Awal, BFSMS vice chairman and convener of the Fair Committee, will deliver the welcome address, while BFSMS Chairman Selim H Rahman will preside over the ceremony.
The fair will be open from 1000 am to 900 pm daily until October 31, taking place across Hall 2 (Pushpoguchcho), Hall 3 (Rajdarshan), and Hall 4 (Noboratri) of the ICCB. A total of 44 leading furniture companies will showcase their products and designs across 323 stalls, offering visitors a chance to explore and purchase the latest designs from renowned brands such as Akhtar, Hatil, Brothers, Nadia, Ayoto, Omega, JMG, Navana, Athena's, Partex, Regal, and Legacy.
Abdul Awal noted that entry to the fair is free for all visitors. Additionally, a children's art competition will be held on the opening day, with awards set to be given to 20 participants.
