20,395 HSC Examinees Challenge Answer Scripts in Jashore Board

Jashore: A total of 20,395 examinees have applied for re-evaluation of 36,205 answer scripts following the publication of this year’s Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination results under the Jashore Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Board Controller Professor Abdul Matin stated that the applications were submitted within the stipulated period between October 17 and 23. The Jashore Education Board recorded a 50.20 percent pass rate in the HSC examinations this year. A total of 1,12,574 students, including 56,601 girls, participated in the examinations held at 240 centres across 575 educational institutions in 10 districts under the board.



Of these students, 56,509, including 31,608 girls, successfully passed the examination. Among the total passed students, 5,995 secured a GPA-5, with 3,515 being girls. This year, female students outperformed their male counterparts in both the overall pass rate and in achieving GPA-5. Specifically, 55.84 percent of girls passed compared to 44.49 percent of boys, and 3,515 girls secured GPA-5 against 2,480 boys.



However, it was noted that no student from 20 colleges under the board managed to pass the examinations this year. The official announcement of the results took place on October 16 at a press conference held at the Jashore Education Board auditorium by the JEB chairman, Professor Dr. Mosammat Asma Begum.
