Two people were killed when a truck hit a CNG-run auto-rickshaw on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Bijoynagar upazila of Brahmanbaria district on Sunday, said police.
The deceased were identified as Sumon, 30, son of Swapan and Mohon Nath, 31, son of Gouranga Nath of Madhabpur upazila in Habiganj district.
Sukhendra Basu, officer-in-charge of Khatihata Highway Police Station, said the accident occurred at 9:30 am at Sashai area when the truck hit the CNG run-auto-rickshaw, leaving two passengers killed on the spot.
In the meantime, a microbus carrying ten people dashed the truck from behind, leaving its passengers injured.
They were taken to a local hospital.
