1859 More Crime Suspects Held, 6 Firearms, Ammunition Seized in Nationwide Crackdown

Dhaka: In the ongoing nationwide anti-criminal crackdown, police arrested 1,849 more crime suspects and seized six firearms and ammunition in the last 24 hours. The operation aims to curb criminal activities across the country by targeting suspects involved in various offenses.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, 1,203 of the apprehended individuals were wanted in previous cases and pending warrants. The remaining 646 suspects faced charges related to various criminal activities. This significant number of arrests highlights the intensive efforts by law enforcement agencies to address crime and enhance public safety.



The law enforcement agencies successfully confiscated a range of weapons during the operation. The seized items included two pistols, one three-quarter rifle, one revolver, one single-barrel gun, one local LG, two bullets, two magazines, nine cartridges, three crude bombs, and one Chinese axe. These seizures are part of the broader strategy to remove illegal arms from the streets and prevent their use in criminal activities.



The ongoing crackdown reflects the authorities’ commitment to maintaining law and order in the country.
