17 Superintendents of Police Transferred, 10 Assigned Additional DIG Roles

Dhaka: The government has implemented a significant reshuffle within the police force, transferring 17 Superintendents of Police (SPs) and assigning 10 of them with the current charge of Additional Deputy Inspector General (Addl DIG). This development comes as part of two gazette notifications issued by the Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the notifications were signed by Deputy Secretary Md Mahbubur Rahman and indicated that the changes are made in the public interest, taking immediate effect. The reshuffle includes prominent changes such as Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Police Headquarters Md Jannatul Hasan being appointed as Addl DIG (current charge) at Police Headquarters. Similarly, SP of Pakshi Railway Police District Md Shahab Uddin has been shifted to Addl DIG (current charge) for the Rajshahi Range.



Other notable assignments include AIG of Police Headquarters Atia Husna moving to Addl DIG (current charge) at Police Headquarters, and SP of Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) Shah Momtazul Islam being assigned as Addl DIG (current charge) for the Rangpur Range. Additionally, DC of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) ASM Shamsur Rahman Bhuiyan has been given the current charge of Addl DIG for Highway Police.



The notifications further include transfers such as Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP) SM Nasiruddin to DMP, and Superintendent of Police (SP) of Industrial Police AKM Zahirul Islam to DMP as DC. Other significant changes involve SP of Police Headquarters Dr Masura Begum being assigned as AIG at Police Headquarters, and promotions like Additional DC of Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) Mahmuda Begum, now SP supernumerary, being transferred to Industrial Police as SP.



These strategic transfers and assignments are part of the government’s ongoing efforts to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the police force across various regions.
